Russian GDC winner Yumsters coming to mobile
Fruit, music and furry creatures that live in holes
No, it's not Lord of the Rings.
Mobile gaming has been increasing in popularity in Russia for quite a while now, but the previously isolated industry is beginning to expand rapidly to feed a huge number of superb games into the global market.
HeroCraft is becoming particularly well known for localising the cream of Russian mobile gaming, and is now bringing the winner of the 2007 Russian Game Developers Conference Best Game Design award, Yumsters, to new territories.
“It's a pleasure for us to be able to offer our customers the game which was a big hit on PC,” says HeroCraft’s PR manager Andrey Horozov. “KranX Productions have gained a great reputation and their games have been making waves in the downloadable gaming communities for some time.”
Yumsters follows the exploits of music and food obsessed furry creatures, which you must help to clean up leftover food from people’s gardens, allowing the creatures to buy gear for their rock band and land the main prize at the Fairy Town music contest.
Pretty surreal stuff, but that’s generally a plus point for pocket gamers. Yumsters should be with us toward the back end of the year.
