Motocross is one of those select sports that most people have only ever encountered in games, rather than the real world. Be honest, can you name the current world champion? Exactly.

Gameloft is the latest publisher to jump on the motocross bandwagon with its new mobile game Xtreme Dirt Bike. It sees you leaping onto motorbikes, but also quads and 'hyperbikes' for some high-adrenaline racing.

There are seven tracks to test your mettle, including Arizona, Siberia, the Sahara Desert and the Great Wall of China – we sincerely hope that last one involves riding along the top of it for all 4,000 miles.

You can tweak your vehicle's engine, tyres, transmission and brakes before each race, while the game also features all manner of spectactular stunts. There are five game modes to play: Race, Road Rage, Freestyle, Duel and Time Attack.

Oh, and there's some casual violence, too, with you able to swat your opponents away with bike chains, baseball bats and metal bars picked up en-route. Something tells us that's not allowed in real-world motocross.

Anyway, Xtreme Dirt Bike is out imminently.
