XCOM: Enemy Unknown kicks off Year of the Horse with 50 percent off sale
2K Drive hits the chop shop, too
To many mobile games, the Gold Award-winning sci-fi strategy game XCOM: Enemy Unknown is as great as it is expensive.
Thankfully, 2K Games is doing something about the latter part and put XCOM: Enemy Unknown on a special 50 per cent off sale from now until February 3, meaning it's been dropped from $19.99 / £13.99 to $9.99 / £6.99.
We've seen this sort of deal before, mind, and just like October's deal 2K Games is putting another title on deep discount as well.
This time out, it's the Bronze Award-winning 2K Drive, which is now 99c / 69p - down from $6.99 / £4.99.
Unknown driver
In our review of XCOM: Enemy Unknown, we called it "a terrific game" that's equally "tense and rewarding" but also noted that it's "an imperfect but completely playable port".
2K Drive, meanwhile, was dubbed "an excellent driving game" in the first sentence of our review but we also noted "persistent and technically sloppy niggles" and its "slightly-too-elaborate progression system" held it back from crossing the line with a Gold or Silver medal around its non-existent neck.
Still, both games are available at a great discount - so if you've any iTunes credit left over from your holiday bounty, this might be a good time to make use of it.
