Wreckfest launches new 'Try & Buy' edition for mobile
Wreck & Roll

- Wreckfest is launching a new 'try before you buy' version
- Experience the whole release, but with a 30 minute timer
- Wreckfest offers destruction derby action in the palm of your hand
The phrase 'like watching a car crash in slow motion' states not just dismay, but morbid fascination. Or maybe it's just that people like watching cars get smashed to bits. Why else is hit destruction derby simulator Wreckfest so popular?
Now, those of you who've been wanting to get their hands on Wreckfest for mobile, but baulked at paying upfront, can get a taste of the action with the new 'try & buy' demo. Available as its own listing, you'll get a teaser of the full Wreckfest experience, with the chance to buy and unlock the whole release once you're done.
How full of an experience? Well, there's a 30-minute time limit, and not much else. Because you'll have access to all gameplay features, 49 vehicles, 45 tracks, realistic physics and destruction, and a whole lot more. Half an hour isn't much, but it's just enough to entice even the most sceptical driver.

There's always been a push-and-pull for those releasing premium experiences on mobile. Back in the day, it was the 'lite' version that functioned as a stripped-back demo, then it seemed people thought 'why bother?' for a few years, and now 'try before you buy' is the new watchword.
But Wreckfest's approach is still interesting, as that 30-minute timer is sure to be ticking down constantly, and being able to access everything but not have the time to experience it all is a devious but inventive way of enticing players to pry open their wallets.
In the meantime, if Wreckfest is a little too much for you, why not take a chill pill with some of the more relaxed recent releases? Check out our list of the top five new mobile games to try this week for some of our picks from the last seven days.
