Dragon's Dogma is back. I mean, it's a HD port of the original game, but it's still back in the sense that you can play it on your swooshy wooshy new consoles now. So that's nice.
But what if you don't have a swooshy wooshy new console? Or what if you like playing games when you're hiding in a bush or deep in the desert? Well then you're going to need a mobile game that's a BIT like Dragon's Dogma aren't you?
And that's exactly what this list is going to give you. Sure they might not be exactly like Dragon's Dogma, but they're all a lot of special fun in their own ways.

Wayward Souls - buy for iOS / Android
One of very few games that have earned a Platinum Award on Pocket Gamer. This is a wonderfully slick roguelike RPG.
It sees you diving into the dungeons of a tower in order to make your way to the top. It's super tough, it's super cruel, and it's incredibly entertaining.
Banner Saga 2 - buy for iOS / Android
It might be turn-based, but the grim atmosphere of Banner Saga 2 is pretty close to that of Dragon's Dogma.
It's a game where you always feel like you're on the losing side, scrabbling to survive in a world that hates you. Throw in incredible cartoon graphics and a brilliant cast of characters and you're on to a winner.
Dungeon of the Endless - buy for iOS
Yes it might be set in space, but this is a brilliant mix of mobile ideas that clicks in a lot of the same ways the DD does.
It's challenging, and you're going to have to learn the ins and outs of the combat system if you want to succeed. This is the sort of game that you're going to push hours of your life into, in the best possible way.
Ravensword: Shadowlands - buy for iOS / Android
A big third-person action RPG. Basically like what Dragon's Dogma is. It might not have that Souls-ish twang of DD, but there's still an awful lot to like here.
Finish quests, explore the world, and try and get to the bottom of your destiny. Even after all these years it's still a damn slick experience that hums on mobile.
