The Vodafone Play Live chart: 12th August 2009

We’re enjoying something of a classic platformer resurgence this week, with both Crash Bandicoot Mutant Island and Sonic Unleashed enjoying strong showings in the chart.

Sonic Unleashed is an enjoyable return to the sort of fast-paced acrobatics we used to see a lot of in the nineties, only with a few action-heavy sections thrown in for variety.

Crash Bandicoot Mutant Island, meanwhile, sees the old PlayStation mascot returning in rude health. You must enlist the help of powerful screen-filling Titans as you leap and collect your way through Crash’s best mobile adventure yet.
