Jools Watsham, of indie studio Renegade Kid, was so eager to share the new trailer for Treasurenauts, he released it to the world a whole day early.

We can't blame him either. Treasurenauts is looking great, as we noted previously. Hopefully, Renegade Kid is able to top the Bronze Award-winning Mutant Mudds with this latest action platformer.

Speaking of Mutant Mudds, you'll notice in the Treasurenauts trailer that Max from that game appears as a playable character, and seems to be the only character with a gun. Handy.

As you'll also see in the video, Treasurenauts involves navigating the caverns of a small island, collecting as much treasure as possible, and dealing with the enemies and traps that try to foil your efforts.

The plan is to collect a million dollars worth of treasure so you can pay Bad Pirate Pete for a ride back to the mainland. He's also the one who dropped you into this mess in the first place.

I particularly love how all of your treasure spills everywhere when taking damage, in very much the same way that Sonic's rings explode out his pockets when he's hurt.

Watsham also said on Twitter that we shouldn't expect Treasurenauts to hit the 3DS eShop before December, so we may even have to wait until 2014 for this one.
