Ex-HotGen designer announces elastic iOS physics-platformer Tongue Tied
Scooby who?
After teasing us with a trailer a few days ago, first-time iOS developer Mojo Bones (a newly formed studio headed up by ex-HotGen designer Stuart Ryall) has spilled the beans on its debut game for iPhone and iPad.
Tongue Tied is a platform game with a physics twist. You play as Mick and Ralph, a pair of cartoonish canines who, by some cruel twist of fate, have had their tongues tied together.
This oral entanglement isn't the handicap you might think, however. The elasticity of their tongues allows one dog to act as an anchor, while the other swings around the environment, reaching platforms and collecting rewards that would be otherwise inaccessible.
Oral fixationIn Tongue Tied, you have to use the iPhone or iPad's touchscreen to manipulate the doggy duo through 50 cartoonish levels in the hope of unlocking the "WonderBone".
"It feels great to finally unveil Tongue Tied," Ryall says. "Mick & Ralph are fun characters to work with and we'd love to take them on more madcap adventures. If the fan support is there, we've got some great ideas in the pipeline."
Featuring a unique trick and bonus system, over 30 "Doghouse" challenges, character level progression, and online leaderboards, Tongue Tied will be available for iOS in early December.
