EA doesn't find South Park's Tiger Woods gag funny

The season premier of South Park's 14th series aired around the world last night. The foul-mouthed cartoon attracted 3.7 million viewers in the United States, making it the most watched South Park premier since 'Rainforest Schmainforest' in 1999.

Called 'Sexual Healing', the episode was based on the recent Tiger Woods sex scandal. Viewers knew that the cheating golfer would be the star of the new episode, but didn't realise that that Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 would also appear in the show.

In the episode Kenny and Cartman play the game on an Xbox 360 kiosk, which features Tiger and his wife Elin Nordegren beating each other up in a fighting game style level and turns Tiger's car crash into an action sequence.

Golf game developer EA was closely watching after announcing in January that it wouldn't drop Tiger Woods from its PGA Tour franchise. According to Daily Informer, a source close to the developer said a lawsuit is possible.

"Soon after the airing of the episode the top beef were called in, even Peter Moore was informed of the situation,” said the source. "While I personally found the episode quite funny," he continues, "there are definitely a few copyright infringements in there that I’m sure will be dealt with accordingly."

South Park is no stranger to controversy and criticism, having pretty much built the entire show on angering one group or another.

The real Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 will release on June 8th for iPhone and consoles.
