Kickstart this: The Deer God is a beautiful platformer about surviving the wild as a reincarnated deer

Haven't you always wanted to be a deer god?

No matter your answer to that question, you'll surely want to shout 'yes' in response after gazing upon the beautiful 3D world of The Deer God.

This is to be the next game from Crescent Moon Games. You'll probably be familiar with the studio due to its previous treats like Ravensword: Shadowlands, Coldfire Keep, and Shadow Blade, to name but a few.

Crescent Moon is currently seeking $26,000 in funding on Kickstarter to put towards the development of The Deer God.

The Deer God is Crescent Moon's most visually attractive game I've seen to date. The rays of sunlight, views of the randomly generated 3D pixel world, and calming night time scenes are beautiful.

Good luck Bambi

The story is just as intriguing, too. It starts with a hunter having an accident and being reincarnated as a deer.

The hunter would rather be a human again, though. Hence, he sets off to explore the wildlife and terrain of The Deer God's world. This is where the survival platforming kicks in.

You'll need to solve environmental puzzles with your intellect and magical powers. However, you'll first need to obtain these abilities from deer statues hidden around the world.

There's much more for you to do in the game as well. Battling with other creatures and sometimes rival stags for one.

You'll also want to mate with female deer. The fawns they give birth to will follow you (until they get bored) and if you die then you'll become them. They act as checkpoints, apparently.

Now, there's no mention of a mobile version of The Deer God anywhere on the Kickstarter page. It states that it will be coming to PC, but nothing else.

Fear not, as in the Touch Arcade forums it has been confirmed by Josh Presseisen of Crescent Moon that an iOS version will happen.

"It will still come to iOS - don't worry. Kickstarter backers just usually aren't fans of mobile games," Presseisen reasons.

It's up to you if you want to support The Deer God on Kickstarter, then. You won't be able to secure an iOS version but you can contribute to the game's development at least.
