Chris McFarland is bringing his action roguelike platformer Tallowmere to iOS.

It's a 2D game that focuses on punishing combat. You can take a couple of hits, but any more than that and you'll die, requiring you to restart.

Under these conditions, survival is usually a case of timing and foresight. You need to block attacks with your shield, and only strike when you see an opening, otherwise you'll face the consequences.

Your mission is to get through procedurally generated dungeons as far as you can, reaching a high score.

As well as the enemies, there are traps and platforming challenges to overcome. The idea is to gradually learn all the telltale signs, getting better at spotting them and playing accordingly so you can survive longer.

Tallowmere isn't a game to be taken lightly, then. It's meant to be tough.

It's a currently available on PC in its alpha form, while the full release is expected to arrive in mid-2015. Whether the iOS version will make it out on that date or afterwards is unknown.

You can vote for Tallowmere on Steam Greenlight. Check out its website for more details.
