TAG Games has announced a contest to put one player actually in its upcoming Car Jack Streets iPhone game.

To enter, people have to send TAG a photo of themselves hanging out next to their dream car (not literally hanging out - that sort of thing is illegal).

Whoever offers "the best combination of gangsta pose and hot wheels" will be turned into a character in the game, complete with a mission created especially for them.

The contest is open until next Monday, as the game itself is due out in March on the App Store.

It's a neat and fun marketing ploy, although not one entirely without precedent in the mobile games industry.

In April 2007, Vivendi Games Mobile ran a contest on MySpace in the US to put five gamers into its Surviving High School '07 game. The publisher then ran a similar scheme with O2 UK the following month to find a villain for Crash of the Titans.
