Online functions added to Space Impact on N-Gage
Another game gets the free upgrade treatment
We were only just talking about how interesting it is to see Namco upgrade its mobile title Rolling with Katamari this morning, and now we hear that Space Impact Kappa Base on the N-Gage has received a similar game function update.
The update comes free to anyone who’s already bought the Pocket Gamer Silver Award winningshooter, which now sees its multiplayer facility expanded to make it more of an online experience.
Players can now organise their own Space Impact Kappa Base clans, which is backed up by an instant messaging service to help with inter-clan communication in the World Battle mode.
The price has seen a reduction, too, which should help build interest for Space Impact Kappa Base all over again - exactly what Nokia’s struggling system needs right now.
Hopefully this burgeoning trend for other platforms to follow the App Store’s lead with feature rich updates will continue, and help the likes of J2ME and N-Gage to compete with the iPhone.
