Shrek Forever After out now for iPhone
Ogre in America, at least
The latest edition of DreamWorks's most milked, abused, and exploited franchise, Shrek Forever After, now has an iPhone game to celebrate another year of commercial success.
Shrek, that lovable ogre, has signed a pact with Rumplestiltskin to return to the glory days of being a swamp dwelling monster. But he ends up in a dark, bizarro version of Far Far Away, has lost that Cameron Diaz-voiced green thing, and realised his life wasn't so bad after all.
And so we enter 11 levels of ogre-the-top action (that's right, we went there) where you beat up townsfolk and navigate Far Far Away as Shrek, Donkey and Puss in Boots. There are also bonus mini-games, Gameloft Live achievements, and voice acting from the characters themselves.
The game is currently only available on the American App Store, but we'll inquire to the powers that be (i.e. Gameloft) as to when it will make its way to Europe.
Update: Gameloft says "it should be live to coincide with the movie release here but no confirmed date for the UK yet." The movie is out in the UK on June 2nd. Shrek Forever After is available now on iPhone and iPod touch for $6.99.
