Following rumours earlier in the week that a new Shinobi game is coming to Nintendo 3DS, the game has now been confirmed.

Shipping in September, this reboot of the classic series will see you taking on an ancient clan as a nimble, sword-wielding ninja, with OTT boss battles and fierce combat.

Sega promises fast-paced gameplay, with pattern-based enemies that will keep you on your toes at all times. There's ranged, melee, and acrobatic attacks, along with special ninja magic for getting out of tight spots.

The game will also come with StreetPass features, allowing you to unlock special Retro Challenge maps and play through levels from the original games, as well as playing as Joe Musashi, the original Shinobi hero.

The following release trailer shows off the game is action, and it's looking pretty slick. We can't wait to see how this classic title will look in stereoscopic 3D.
