Sacred Odyssey HD lands on HD Android handsets and Xperia Play

Gameloft doesn’t look like slowing down its recent Android stampede any time soon, if today’s news is anything to go by.

Not content with launching four games at the end of last week, the French publisher has just launched Sacred Odyssey: Rise of Ayden HD on its Android webstore for a selection of what it calls ‘Android HD+’ devices, including a version designed for the Xperia Play.

Sacred Odyssey puts you in the boots of the titular Ayden as he attempts to save the fantasy kingdom of Lasgalen from an ancient evil through a combination of open-world exploring and good old-fashioned slashing.

It owes quite a debt to Nintendo’s Zelda series in terms of style, but that’s not a bad thing in our book as the iPhone version managed to break open a Pocket Gamer chest and hold a Silver Award over its head.

We’ll have a review of the Android version of the game on the site soon.
