Rayman Jungle Run finally lands on Google Play

Late, but oh so great

Rayman Jungle Run finally lands on Google Play

For a full week now, iOS gamers have been sprinting blissfully through the gorgeously rendered environments of Rayman Jungle Run.

Android users, meanwhile, have had to spend the last seven days impatiently twiddling their thumbs while the team at Ubisoft ensured the Google Play version was "fully optimised for all Android devices".

Well, it's time to put those twiddled-out thumbs to good use: Rayman Jungle Run is now available on Google Play.

Rather than try to port the excellent Rayman Origins over to mobile, Ubi drafted in the folks at Pastagames to create something different: a game based on the Rayman license, but designed from the ground up for touchscreen devices.

The result is an utterly captivating continuous runner, one which combines the astonishing visuals of its console cousin with Canabalt's immediately accessible one-touch control system.

Runaway success

We loved all 40 of Rayman Jungle Run's exquisitely crafted levels - in fact, they earned the game a well-deserved Pocket Gamer Gold Award.

So go buy Rayman Jungle Run from Google Play for £1.93 now [download]. And yes: that is an order. Hop to it.
