Are you the sort of person who considers liquid the perfect plaything? You should become a fireman, then.

But seriously.

Silver Award-winning aqua-based game Puddle has just surfaced on the New Zealand App Store, meaning it'll land on UK and US shores at midnight tonight.

The game itself is all about guiding a puddle through a maze of pipes, tunnels, and obstacles. Different liquids react differently, so each level presents a new set of challenges.

You'll need to take friction, gravity, and temperature into account as you try and guide your puddle from A to B without leaving too much behind or losing too much of it. There are lasers, too.

If your water evaporates or your coffee gets trapped behind a door, you're going to have to hop back to the start of the level and start again.

The game's sloshy graphics are just lovely, with your puddles bubbling and dripping in precisely the right fashion as you move the scenery to get your small pools of liquid to their destination.

We reviewed the Silver Award-winning Vita version of Puddle a year ago, stating that Puddle "is definitely one of our top picks among the downloadable PS Vita titles".

The iOS version of Puddle will be out at midnight in the UK and US. It'll be available at a special introductory price of £1.99 / $2.99.
