After 250 million downloads of Cut the Rope across mobile and web platforms, Russian developer ZeptoLab has come up with what it hopes will be its next worldbeater.

And keeping with the eating metaphor started with Om Nom that game is Pudding Monsters.

"What's a pudding monster", you ask?

"They are monsters made of pudding, of course," replies ZeptoLab, helpfully.

Let's stick together

In terms of the information the company has released, the game is based around the skills of the various pudding monsters, which it seems you'll combine - swiping them to stick together - to solve the game's levels as they adventure off the table, out of the house and into the city.

Your eventual goal is to save your friend who's been kidnapped (aren't all the best games so framed?), eventually becoming the Ultimate Mega Monster when you combine all your pudding monsters together.

Ready for holidays

"We love experimenting with different themes and gameplay mechanics - and Pudding Monsters is exactly the result of that," said ZeptoLab co-founder Semyon Voinov.

"Our fans, new and old, will recognise in this game the same quality of graphics, game design and user experience that led to the success of Cut the Rope."

We don't have much more information, apart that the game will be available for iOS and Android on 20th December.

In the meantime, you can check out the website and Facebook page.
