Potion Explosion is a digital boardgame adaptation coming to iOS and Android next month

Let’s be honest, there’s something about mixing up potions that makes us feel good about ourselves. Even if we’re just chucking different coloured liquids into a glass and then drinking it, there’s a weird sort of kick there.

And that’s pretty much what you’re going to be doing in Potion Explosion on iOS and Android.

It’s a digital adaptation of a popular boardgame that sees players taking on the role of students at the Horribilorum Sorcery Academy for Witty Witches and Wizards.

The game is all about collecting skill tokens. The player with the most skill tokens at the end of term is crowned the winner. You get these by successfully mixing together special potions. And you do that by rolling around digital marbles.

There are multiplayer and single player modes, and this looks like a boardgame that’s more on the casual side than your usual chit collecting in-depth slog.

Potion Explosion is set to land on iOS and Android next month. And when it does it’ll set you back £5.99 / $6.99.
