Just days after NimbleBit released some interesting stats regarding in-app purchases, the developer has revealed that total downloads of Pocket Frogs have now surpassed 500,000.

Said figure – as published by TUAW – is impressive, given the freemium title only launched on the App Store less than a week ago.

Fresh frogs

Arguably more significant, however, is co-founder Ian Marsh's assertion that those half a million include 200,000 active users a day.

As a result, Nimblebit claims it is currently hard at work on an update to the app set to take advantage of the game's eager userbase.

Grabbing the most attention is the new Frogedex feature. Similar to Pokedex on Pokemon games, Frogedex will log every frog available in the game, as well as cataloguing each breed a user has come across.

Marsh also estimated 3-4 percent of all users were making in-app purchases, with the majority of revenue – 49 percent in fact - being generated by Pocket Frog's $29.99 IAP option.
