Sony to release new PSP Slim & Lite battery and covers

Sony has announced a PSP Extended Life Battery Kit, which includes a 2200mAh battery pack that can theoretically double the play time of the current Slim & Lite 1200mAh power source.
The unit, predictably, is thicker than the current battery and so Sony has included a revised, custom cover. Well, two, in fact: one in Piano Black, one in Ice Silver.
Ice Silver? Well, yes, because this pack is currently scheduled for the US, where it will launch mid-December at $45 (£22).
No news yet on when we should expect it to turn up in Europe but we suspect an announcement soon.
