Aside from the obvious religious connotations so often forgotten these days, Christmas is all about the spirit of giving. Which might explain why Sony has just released the latest firmware update for PSP, which brings a gift in the form of internet radio support for your handheld. (Of course, over in Japan PSP owners are also getting a PVR function with their firmware, but let's not grumble, eh?)

It's a relatively straightforward process to get the radio working, but Sony's official PlayStation blog has helpfully posted a set of instructions.

At the time of writing, Sony's European site doesn't seem to have updated to firmware 3.80 yet (still on 3.73) but it usually turns up soon after the US version and may well be there by the time you visit.

Update: ver3.80 now available from Sony Europe.
