Hacked Flash ROM successfully runs FarmVille on the Nexus One

Hacked Flash ROM successfully runs FarmVille on the Nexus One

An Alpha version of the hotly anticipated HTC Desire’s ROM leaked onto the internet in recent weeks, and with it Adobe Flash 10.1 for Android.

Brave Nexus One owners over at Redmond Pie have risked irretrievably breaking their handsets by testing it out on the most ‘desired’ game to play on your mobile.

A title bigger than Uncharted 2, Gears of War and Call of Duty put together: FarmVille.

Surprisingly, despite it being an incredibly early release of the ROM, FarmVille ran very smoothly, albeit with a lot of zooming and panning to fit the screen size while remaining playable.

While this isn’t too much of an issue with a relaxed farming ‘sim', a more intensive time/reaction-based action game could be a real chore unless it was specifically designed for the mobile version of Flash.

We'll have to wait until spring to find out if these issues remain in the official release of Flash 10.1.
