Nintendo announces Month of Mario eShop sale for US customers
Four 'classics' on sale
Nintendo of America has announced a new 'Month of Mario' sale to help celebrate (and build anticipation for) the upcoming release of New Super Mario Bros. 2 and the 3DS XL.
The Month of Mario sale features 'four classic Mario games' on sale in the eShop. Each game is currently available for download now, but will see a minor discount during a given week of the 'Month of Mario'.
The schedule for the sale is as follows:
July 26 - Aug. 1
Super Mario Bros. $4.99 $3.99
Aug. 2 - Aug. 8
Super Mario Land $3.99 $2.99
Aug. 9 - Aug. 15
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins $3.99 $2.99
Aug. 16 - Aug. 22
Mario's Picross $3.99 $2.99
While there's certainly some stone-cold great games there, the inclusion of Mario’s Picross could be said to be stretching the definition of the word 'classic' [it is a good game, though - Picross-loving Ed].
New Super Mario Bros. 2 will be available in Europe on August 17th and North America on August 19th. It will be available for physical purchase or as a download via the eShop.
