Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G breaks through two million mark

The latest sales figures from Media Create suggest Capcom may want to pop down to the nearest Marks & Spencer (well, the UK office, clearly) and buy a cake. Again.

That's because following a short period off the top of the software sales chart following the release of Mario Kart Wii, the publisher's PSP now-near-phenomenon Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G is back in first place.

In the week ending May 18th, the game sold 53,000 units, which crucially brings its total number sold over the two million mark: 2,045,000 to be precise.

In comparison, Mario Kart Wii shifted 42,000 units in the week, a figure that now sees it following the considerable slipstream created by the unstoppable Monster Hunter. We don't know when that beast is going to stop selling but it doesn't look like it'll be any time soon.

Probably best make it two cakes, Capcom.
