Crescent Moon Games is releasing the pixel-art Metroidvania game Micetopia for iOS and Android devices later this week.

As can be inferred from the title, it’s a game about playing as a mouse warrior who must battle their way through the eponymous world of Micetopia to save its inhabitants that have been taken by an evil force. You have to fight back against the dark minions that threaten you as you try to save your fellow mice.

As a Metroidvania, Micetopia is all about unlocking new abilities and opening up more of a huge map as you continue your adventure. There’s a good blend of platforming and combat to make up the most of this gameplay as you defeat enemies and dodge their attacks. Check out some gameplay in the tweet we’ve included below, in which you can see the mouse battling a Crystal Golem. Micetopia had previously released on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch last November, when it was developed by Ninja Rabbit Studio and published by Ratalaika Games, however Crescent Moon Games is taking full responsibility of the mobile port.

That art style in particular looks very appetising to me, and so if you're interested you can check out Micetopia on the iOS App Store and Google Play for Android store on Wednesday, 27th January. It’s a premium title which’ll cost $4.99, and is also available on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
