Magic: ManaStrike has just received an update that introduces Ixalan Season II, which includes fresh Magic Pass rewards and two all-new unit cards. This is Netmarble's first game for Wizards of the Coast's Magic franchise, and it's one we've covered a good few times now since its launch earlier this year.

Today's update includes two new colourless unit cards – Livewire Lash and Gadget Swarm. The former allows you to perform melee attacks against ground and air units, with your damage being based on the enemy's max HP. The latter gives you the power to summon three Hedron Scouts and three Clockwork Beetles into battle. Hedron Scouts are melee-focused units that are good for dealing with ground-based enemies, while Clockwork Beetles are deadly ranged units.

The new Magic Pass rewards include a Planeswalker selector, level boost voucher, skin selector, and in-game emojis and player icons. Using the Planeswalker selector will give you the option to select from one of three Planeswalkers released during the game's soft launch period.

For those not in the know, Magic: ManaStrike is of course a PvP strategy game set in the world of Magic: The Gathering. You'll take part in real-time battles against online opponents that last a rapid three minutes. This keeps the whole thing nice and mobile-friendly.

If you're eager to give it a go or hop back in to see what's new, you'll find Magic: ManaStrike up for download now from over on Google Play and the App Store. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases. Those just starting out would be wise to check out our beginner's guide.
