The 2010 Bafta Awards ceremony has just drawn to a close, and Sony Liverpool is celebrating victory in the handheld category for LittleBigPlanet - though Media Molecule, which developed the original PS3 game, is presumably going halves with Sony on the champagne.

LittleBigPlanet is a consummate portable platformer, earning a Pocket Gamer Platinum Award when we reviewed it last year. For the record, Pocket Gamer ended up giving its own game of the year award to Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, but it was tight.

During the ceremony, industry legend and father of both Mario and Zelda Shigeru Miyamo received a lifetime achievement Fellowship award, and delivered his acceptance speech in English.
