Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance named for 3DS, details revealed

After making an appearance at Square Enix’s First Production Event yesterday, producer Yasushi Yasue has revealed more about Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance on the 3DS.

Yasue was keen to highlight the varied missions and speedy combat, indicating that the game will be more action orientated than previous instalments. “We want to place particular focus on the form of the new Kingdom Hearts action. We want to give the game the feel of breaking speed”, he added.

Yasue also stated that the title has multiple interpretations and that the ‘distance’ in the title could refer to the 3D functionality of the game.

Given that director Tetsuya Nomura has indicated that this latest release in the Kingdom Hearts series should be considered a prologue to Kingdom Hearts III, it was interesting that Yasue hinted that certain enemies and content would allow players to guess at future developments in the saga.

Despite offering these snippets of information, no release date for the upcoming title was revealed. Andriasang
