It used to be that developers added online modes to their titles to give them a bit of longevity.

Now, if Com2uS's latest stats are to be believed, online play actually forms the bulk of much of a developer's mobile mix.

As such, the publisher is reporting year old baseball sim Homerun Battle 3D has amassed a total of more than 60 million online match-ups on iPhone, iPad and Android.

Com2uS's numbers also suggest that a total of 1 million online accounts have spent more than 480 minutes playing the game online, each player starting it up 50 times on average and using the match-up mode 220 times over a period of 70 days.

Sadly, the publisher didn't go as far as to differentiate between the three platforms, only adding that Homerun Battle 3D remains within the top 10 sports games on both the App Store and Android Market in the US a year after launch.
