Toronto-based developer DrinkBox Studios has announced that Guacamelee!, its upcoming PS Vita title, will be released onto the Playstation Network via the SCEA Pub Fund program - a self-publishing platform that features game design and marketing help from Sony.

According to its developer, Guacamelee! is a "Mexican-themed co-op-multiplayer dimension-swapping Metroidvania beat-'em-up platformer".

In it, you take on the role of down-on-his-luck farmer Juan Aguacate, who must travel throughout two unique worlds in search of the girl he loves.

"Sony has been really great to work with in the past, and we are excited to continue working with it to have the opportunity to bring our new game to its platforms via the Pub Fund program," Graham Smith, DrinkBox's co-founder, said.

Guacamelee! won't be out until early 2013, but you can expect to see more of it at E3, which kicks off on June 5th.
