Golden Tee Mobile is the free, mobile version of the legendary arcade game. Normally, the only way to play Golden Tee was by heading to an arcade, sports bar, or pub, or if you have the Home Edition. Now, gamers can tee it up on mobile with all of its wacky quirks.

Underneath the arcade-like exterior, it is a very good playing golf game with some beautiful courses to play on. Its unique blend of fun golf and quirkiness is similar to that of the old Tiger Woods PGA Tour games. The difference is that the TW games lean more to the simulation side while GT is more of the opposite.

One of GT Mobile's unique quirks is the special balls that you can unlock via crates. Each one can give you a great advantage on the course if you use them at the right time. Every one of them is great in their own ways, but here are a few you should keep an eye out for in crates.

Torpedo Ball

This lovely golf ball in Golden Tee Mobile is called the Torpedo and it is one of the best balls in the game. in some ways, it's like the Maniax ball (used for more distance) but probably better. I say this because this affects how much further the ball rolls after landing.

So despite wind or any other factor, a good roll after the ball drops can give you greater distance. This ball really does that very well. And the more yardage the better because then you'll end up being closer to the hole, leaving you with an easier shot.

Some of the holes you play on in the game are long. Letting the ball roll is excellent for these kinds of layouts. when you're further away on the fairway, you'll need to club up and hope that you can make the green. Sometimes you might have to lay up. With this ball, you don't need to worry about that as much.

Sniper Ball

This Golden Tee Mobile super ball is a lot of fun to use. More importantly, it's immensely helpful. When used, the ball will stop on a dime as soon as it lands. This can save your ball from rolling into a hazard or from leaving you with too long of a putt.

You can use this with any shot, but it's recommended to use it mostly for approach shots, to guarantee that you'll be putting on the greens. Now, sometimes it will still leave you a longer putt if you don't hit your second shot well enough.

The good thing though is that you'd still be on the green. Sometimes it's easy to overhit or underhit approach shots, and if there's water or bunkers around the green then that will be trouble. As long as you underhit or overhit to the point where the ball actually hits the ground first, you should be saved by this ball.

Orbit Ball

The Orbit super ball is another one that's most effective on approach shots. It's essentially a super backspin kind of ball, so this will let you hit your shots a little harder. Put a tad bit of extra power on your secondary shot, and let the Orbit ball roll back down, hopefully getting near the flag.

It's kind of similar to the Sniper ball in that it can save you from hazards around the greens. It just all depends on how much power you put in your shots. When using the right club and power on your swing, and using the Orbit ball, this can potentially lead to some gorgeous shots.

If you're really on target, the ball could roll back and straight in the hole. It definitely makes for some great highlight-reel moments while giving you some low scores.

Honorable Mention: The Ranger ball is another very useful ball that makes it easier to hit off of certain terrain such as the rough. A very effective ball that seems to be easier to unlock in crates.
