Word of mouth hasn't been great on the game's performance or in-app currencies but let's hope that Gameloft will listen to player feedback.

You can also pre-register for the game here and unlock some currency ahead of launch.

Typical of Gameloft, the launch of Gangstar: New Orleans has been pretty hush-hush since last year but guess what? It's just soft-launched on iOS in the Philippines.

After months of silence we finally know a little more about Gangstar: New Orleans, thanks to its sneaky forum post. Sounding a little like GTA Online, you've got biker gangs, crooked cops, and other curious characters to get a leg-up over. It's time to turn yourself from plain Jane to utterly insane Jane and claim the Big Easy as your own criminal capital.

This open world you're throw into gives your dozens of story missions to sink your teeth into, general mischief to be had, and turf wars to ensue. Complement heavy action with rather attractive graphics/soundtrack and you've got yourself a match made in heaven.

Now it's finally been soft-launched that means it can't be more than a couple of months from release, so keep an eye out. We'll let you know when the game drops.
