The latest games company to make the jump into TV animation is Canadian outfit Gamerizon.

The developer of the Chop Chop series has signed a deal with fellow Montreal-based Sardine Productions and Teletoon Canada to bring Chop Chop Ninja to TV screens.

To be shown under the title Chop Chop Ninja Challenge, the 39 1.5 minute shorts will feature competition between four ninja characters.

An appetiser

However, the wider plan is that the shorts series will serve as an introduction to a full-length series that is expected to air in 2014.

"Chop Chop Ninja Challenge's fresh look and feel make it a great fit for Teletoon," said its director of original content Alan Gregg.

"We're thrilled to be moving into production on this series with Sardine Production and Gamerizon."
