Galaxy On Fire 2 WON'T be sold through operators
Fishlabs abandoning traditional mobile games sales channels
If you're eagerly awaiting the day Fishlabs's new space-strategy mobile game Galaxy On Fire 2 appears on your operator's portal... well, you'll be waiting a long time.
The publisher has announced that it won't be distributing its games through operator decks or internet portals for the forseeable future, after becoming fed up with poor marketing, low revenue shares, and rampant piracy.
Instead, Galaxy On Fire 2 will be given away for free from Fishlabs's own website, and you'll be able to play for a few hours before being asked to pay 100,000 MyFishlabs credits (the publisher's own virtual currency - that's around £5.60) to unlock the rest.
The game will use copy protection to ensure that you've properly unlocked it, too, connecting to Fishlabs's server once per game session to verify your status.
