Fruit Ninja HD swiping across to the iPad on July 14th
New multiplayer mode lets your pear up
Halfbrick has just announced that addictive slice-'em-up Fruit Ninja will be getting an HD remake, bringing the bizarre fruit-slicing antics to the iPad’s larger screen for the first time.
The aim of Fruit Ninja is deceptively simple – swipe your finger across the screen to cut up various types of fruit like watermelons and bananas, while avoiding slicing up bombs.
There’s a lot more to it than just that, though, with combos and multiple-fingered slashes bringing an extra dimension to the high-score based gameplay.
Along with the expected HD graphical overhaul, the new iPad remake will have the ability to track up to eight fingers on screen, so even more audacious combos and massive splatters of citrus will be possible.
There are also two split-screen multiplayer modes available that take advantage of the iPad’s bigger screen, allowing two players to engage in the mindless slaughter of innocent fruit simultaneously.
Halfbrick has promised that the iPad version will receive the same level of support as the iPhone with new items, modes, and unlocks all cited for a later release.
Fruit Ninja HD will be available on the App Store on July 14th for £2.99/ $4.99.
