Although we gave Supermono's user-generated racer Forever Drive a prestigious Pocket Gamer Silver Award at review, we had several grumbles about the game's freemium model - namely its three-credit system.

Said system meant you could only race in the game's Super XP mode - which multiplies your XP by ten - three times before having to put your hand in your pocket and buy more credits through in-app purchase.

Thankfully, Supermono is set to address this in update 1.1 by allowing you to earn free credits. You'll bag yourself some freebies by unlocking several in-game achievements, but you'll also "sometimes be awarded them when you're not even playing the game".

There's also going to be new ways to score points in the game, meaning it'll be easier to bag yourself XP. Aside from credits, update 1.1 will introduce "new freely unlockable content", such as new scenery.

A second chance

The current cap, which prevents you from creating more than three tracks without spending cash is also set to be tweaked. When the update drops, you'll be allowed to re-edit or completely replace your tracks with new ones - as many times as you like.

Update 1.1 is expected to be ready in the "next week or two". The subsequent update will include a "whole new gameplay mode", but we don't have any further details just yet.

You can grab Forever Drive from the App Store right now completely free of charge.
