Square Enix releases Final Fantasy III for Android in Japan

Western audience will have to wait its turn

Square Enix releases Final Fantasy III for Android in Japan

Classic RPG Final Fantasy III is now available to download on Android devices in Japan.

Those lucky Japan-based Android gamers are getting the same overhauled version of Square Enix's role-playing game sequel that the iOS crowd has been enjoying since March 2011.

This means the bespoke touchscreen controls have made it across from iOS to Android intact. The Android version of the game retains the iOS original's upgraded 3D visuals, too, which lend an extra dimension to this beloved turn-based title.

Unfortunately for UK residents, Square Enix is only allowing Japanese Android customers to get their hands on Final Fantasy III at the moment. However, the iOS version did eventually find its way over to western App Stores, so we shouldn't have to wait too long here in Britain for it to become available.

Final Fantasy III for Android can be found on the Square Enix Market, priced at ¥1400.
