Not content with being re-released on just about every, the first two entries in the Final Fantasy series are now arriving on the Playstation Store in Europe.

Final Fantasy hits the Playstation Store on the 16th February (today), while Final Fantasy II will arrive on the 2nd March.

Both feature updated high-resolution 2D graphics and are digital versions of the UMD releases which debuted back in 2007

The games will both cost €9.99 but there will be an opportunity to save some money should you buy one of Square Enix’s other titles this year. A coupon packaged with Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy will allow you to buy Final Fantasy half price, while a similar coupon included with The 3rd Birthday will halve the price of the sequel.

Final Fantasy received an impressive Silver Award from Pocket Gamer, with Ed Fear calling it “a much more tempting prospect than it has been for years”.

Final Fantasy II did not fare as well, scoring 6 out of 10, a score that could have been improved had, “equal amount been put into modernising the game’s fairness and difficulty level as has been put into graphical polish.” Joystiq
