Flip Trickster is currently riding high on the App Store chart in the US and the UK. So what's it all about?

"Hardcore Parkour," according to the app blurb. In practice, it's a casual stunt game that has you touching and holding the screen to jump and flip your crash test dummy-like character.

It's actually pretty entertaining, and there's a real knack to getting your dude to rotate and land on his feet.

These casual games aren't really built to last, of course. So what should you play when you're finished with Flip Trickster? Here are a few suggestions.

Super Fancy Pants Adventure

In its own way, Super Fancy Pants Adventure is just as 'parkour' as Flip Trickster. Maybe even more so.

It's a pretty basic-looking 2D platformer, but it boasts an irresistible sense of momentum and acceleration. Run and jump across its vast, free-wheeling levels and your little stick-person will build up a terrific head of steam.

Add in ramps to vault off, rails to grind, and walls to bounce between and you have yourself a free-running extravaganza.

2
Flip Diving

Flip Diving

If it's the whole Flip Trickster premise of jumping, flipping and landing that you dig, check out Flip Diving.

It uses similar ingredients, but it zooms the action out and applies it to the dangerous world of high diving.

That means the onus is on multiple flips and landing in perilously small pools of water. It's pretty good fun.

3
Turbo Dismount

Publisher: Secret Exit
Available on: iOS + Android + Steam

Turbo Dismount

Flip Trickster has a hefty ragdoll element to it. Part of the pleasure is in seeing your character face plant from a considerable height.

Turbo Dismount doesn't try to hide this pleasure from you in any way. It's a classically kinetic ragdoll game that has you inflicting pain on a poor stooge.

Sure, it's shallow. But if you want an amped-up, super-dumb alternative to Flip Trickster, here's your game.

4
Trials: Frontier

Developer: Ubisoft RedLynx
Publisher: Ubisoft
Available on: iOS + Android

Trials: Frontier

Okay, so Flip Trickster and Trials: Frontier have very little in common at first glance. One is about jumping off a wall, while the other is about riding loop de loops on a dirt bike.

But when it comes down to it, the pleasure in both games comes down to landing acrobatic, flip-filled jumps.

It's just that with Trials, you'll doing so from a much great height and whilst moving along at 50mph. Which makes it much more exciting, in our book.
