Exploding Kittens 2 just dropped the final piece of its Explosive Expansion Pass, and it’s bringing a lot more chaos to your digital card table. After the last update introduced content sharing and new deck types, Marmalade Game Studio is capping things off with the Barking Kittens Expansion, complete with eight fresh cards and eleven new deck recipes.
Leading Exploding Kittens 2’s latest update is the titular Barking Kittens mechanic, which plays out like a bluffing duel disguised as a ticking time bomb. Play one of the two Barking Kitten cards and you’re either taking someone out or painting a target on yourself, depending on whether the second copy is already in another player’s hand. It’s pure mind games, and that’s just the start.
Seven other cards shake up the core formula in strange and strategic ways. Some force everyone to sacrifice a card, others let you hijack the next draw from an unlucky opponent. There’s even a nod to fans with the Tower of Power, offering some welcome protection from sticky fingers.
Then come the 11 new decks, each with its own flavour. From the aggressive, thieving Sticky Fingers setup to the high-risk Meowsochist build or the ultra-chaotic Black Hole deck, it seems there’s something here to fit every playstyle, or sabotage someone else’s.
