Ex-BioWare lead bringing action RPG Emissary of War to iOS this Thursday
Put a note in your diary

BioWare veteran Tobyn Manthorpe's newest project Emissary of War, an action RPG with highly impressive production values, will debut on iPhone and iPad this Thursday (August 18th).
Talking exclusively with us last week, Manthorpe highlighted the influence of his previous work on this new hack 'n' slash gameworld, citing Baldur’s Gate, Neverwinter Nights and Dragon Age as big inspirations.
Bearer of bad news
In the role of barbarian emissary Ghent, you set out on a peace mission that inevitably goes horribly wrong. Along with potion-wielding AI companion Hassock, Ghent has to uncover and destroy the evil forces that undermine his diplomatic task.
Emissary of War features a 3D world, voice acting for the entire cast of characters, and a series of cutscenes to support the monster-filled storyline.
iOS skinflints can rejoice, meanwhile, as the first chapter of Emissary of War will be free to download on iPhone and iPad when it launches on Thursday.
If you are suitably impressed and wish to prolong the epic RPG experience, you’ll have to fork out £1.99 / $2.99 to open up the next chapter.
