Eliss: Infinity will touch down on the App Store on February 6th. If you like the sound of multi-touch rhythm-action puzzling, you'll like this.

If you're not familiar with the original Eliss, it's a super-tough, retro-tinged blend of styles in which you combine circles of the same colour and correct size.

You need to dissect some shapes, match spoke holes with the right discs, and avoid circles of the wrong colour touching one another.

Surprisingly enough, it's easier said than done.

We gave the original a Bronze Award at review. We said: "Eliss gets everything right, except for the difficulty curve. If it's an extreme challenge with charm and polish you are after, look no further."

Well, there are several new additions in this semi-sequel.

The original Eliss levels - albeit with some tweaks and polishing - and a tutorial level are included here, for starters.

Then, there's the Spacebox, which is essentially a sandbox version of the game in which you can practise in a more relaxed environment. Possibly with less swearing on your part.

Lastly, there's the "Infinity" mode. According to Eliss: Infinity dev Steph Thirion, it's "Tetris meets Super Hexagon meets Eliss".

Essentially, it's an endless mode with a new chaining mechanic and an emphasis on chasing high scores.

Eliss: Infinity will surface on the App Store this Thursday, is a Universal app with progress synced across multiple iOS devices, and will set you back £1.99 / $2.99.
