Dragon Quest 8 is coming to 3DS, but probably not in English

PlayStation 2 favourite Dragon Quest 8 is getting a re-release on Nintendo 3DS. It will hit the handheld in Japan on August 27th, but there's no word on a Western release.
I wouldn't hold your breath - Dragon Quest 7 came to 3DS in Japan over two years ago, and never got translated into English. As ever, fans are picking up the slack.
We last saw Dragon Quest 8 on iOS and Android. We said, "A port that's both bold and reverential, Dragon Quest VIII might not be the perfect fit for mobile devices, but it's not too far off".
We would ask Square Enix if it plans to release the game in English but we might as well shout our question down a well.
