Pocket Gamer Advent Calendar 2016 - Day of the Tentacle Remastered

Merry Christmas, pocket gamers! It's not long now till you can kick back, dig into an entire turkey carcass, and spend far too much money on gifts.

Day of the Tentacle Remastered is, as the name suggests, a remastered version of the 1993 original which is, itself, a sequel to Maniac Mansion.

Both of these games are by Ron Gilbert, so if you're a fan of his stuff you can safely expect awesome cartoon visuals, a zany plot, and humour in abundance.

You play as three unlikely friends who have to thwart a mutated tentacle's plans to take over the world. Yes, you did read that correctly.

And that involves tapping around the screen for clues, solving puzzles, and meeting a cast of wacky characters throughout this remastered adventure.

At review, we gave Day of the Tentacle Remastered a thoroughly deserved Gold Award, and described it as: "an almost perfect marriage of well-written story, devious, yet genius puzzles, mesmerizing art, and succulent, soulful symphonies".
