E3 2008: New Castlevania DS screenshots crawl out of the coffin

Konami has been talking up its latest DS Castlevania game at E3 and showing off a batch of new screenshots too (see right).

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia has you playing as a member of the Ecclesia - an organisation that's sworn to defeat the evil forces of Dracula. A new Glyph attack system gives you more than 100 combinations with which to battle Dracula and his minions, and there are 20 new explorable areas to venture into.

It's also been revealed that the game will be compatible with the new Wii Castlevania game Castlevania Judgement. Connecting up the two will give you access to the special unlockable items.

The side-scrolling action game also features a wi-fi option which lets you compete head-to-head with other players, and you can sell and buy items and equipment you've found during the game with others.

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia is due for release this October. Prepare to take on the undead then.
