Controversial game studio Rockstar has landed like an anvil on the pocket gaming scene, dropping the combined bombshell of GTA: Chinatown Wars on both PSP and iPhone, and then following up with the news that hip hop sequencing song crafter system Beaterator is also coming to both platforms.

We all know what GTA is about, so there'll be no massive surprises there (other than the level of its portable awesomeness), but Beaterator is something of a mystery.

The Rockstars have teamed up with producer Timbaland to create the PSP's most unusual addition to its burgeoning resurgence, which Fraser managed to get his hands on at GamesCom.

To help spread the beat, Rockstar just sent us some screenshots, a trailer and a video of a few budding beat masters putting Beaterator through its paces. Check 'em out, and, as always, let us know your thoughts.
