Forthcoming iPad RPG Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition will feature multiplayer capabilities and a sub-$10 price tag

If you're looking forward to downloading the enhanced version of BioWare's 1998 role-playing title Baldur's Gate when it lands on the iPad this summer, you'll be pleased to read that it'll cost you less than $10.

Cameron Tofer, COO of Beamdog (parent company of Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition dev Overhaul Games), has revealed to website Kotaku that it'd be "crazy" to charge more for the classic title.

"Baldur's Gate is a pretty big game and we're not cutting it down to size. There's a boatload of content there, 80+ hours. But past ten dollars doesn't make sense," Tofer stated in a phone interview.

If that isn't enough to whet your appetite for the forthcoming port, it's been revealed that Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition will feature multiplayer capabilities.

An enhanced edition of sequel Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn is also expected to hit the App Store "later this year".

Kotaku has promised to post more details tomorrow regarding the future of Baldur's Gate and how these ports will take advantage of the iPad's touch-enabled display.

We'll let you know if there's any juicy news included.
