Beat Legend: AVICII is a rhythm action game featuring songs by the legendary producer that's available now for iOS and Android

Atari and developer Hello There Games have released the first in a series of rhythm action games today called Beat Legend: AVICII, that will celebrate the works of the late DJ, producer and songwriter. It's available now for iOS and Android as a premium title.

As you can see in the embedded trailer below, the game looks to offer the standard gameplay fair we've come to expect from rhythm action games. The gimmick here is that you're guiding a spacecraft by tapping along to beat. You can stack multipliers to achieve higher scores and earn yourself a perfect rating on each track by nailing the timing.

It's also very aesthetically pleasing particularly if, like me, you're a fan of the colour purple and blue. Naturally, of course, the soundtrack is also excellent, given that it's a selection of songs from a world-class EDM producer. Music royalties from the game will be donated to the Tim Bergling Foundation in collaboration with AVICII's estate.

As mentioned above, this will be the first in a series of rhythm games celebrating different artists. The developers say this will be a mixture of both already popular artists and those that are up-and-coming.

There will 15 songs to play through in the game, with more being added in future. The tracks currently available in the game are:

  • Hey Brother
  • Levels
  • Wake Me Up
  • SOS
  • The Nights
  • Without You
  • Waiting for love
  • Sunset Jesus
  • Lonely Together
  • Heaven
  • Fades Away
  • Broken Arrows
  • Addicted to You
  • I Could Be the One
  • Gonna Love Ya

Beat Legend: AVICII is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a premium title that costs $2.99.
